I must have missed something in this new law. I went to the Superstore Gas Bar In mission, BC where I always fill up. They do not have card swipe at the pump so I took my credit card inside, gave it to the attendant, told him which pump I was at. He says “How much do you want?” I said I’ll know when I have finished. “No,no” he says. You have to tell me how much gas you want! At that point I said, “give me back my card and I will go to somewhere where there is card-swipe at the pumps” . I believe this is where problems are going to arrise. What I was going to do was tell him $60.00 and after my tank was filled , come back in and ask him to do a refund for the unused portion. I had already wasted to much time on something that either I was wrong on, or the Superstore Management management was wrong on . Just a comment!

I tend to agree…it is going to cause problems along the way. With the fluctuation in gas prices, the total will always be different. I have yet to fill up since the new law went into effect….should be interesting.

I’ve been engaged in taxes for lengthier then I care to admit, both on the personal side (all my employed life!!) and from a legal standpoint since passing the bar and following up on tax law. I’ve furnished a lot of advice and rectified a lot of wrongs, and I must say that what you’ve put up makes impeccable sense. Please continue the good work - the more individuals know the better they’ll be armed to cope with the tax man, and that’s what it’s all about.
